Tailored-to-you executive function coaching and academic tutoring for neurodivergent (ADHD, Autistic, OCD, cPTSD, etc) adults & teens, with an advocate who gets it. Amanda is a down-to-earth and compassionate coach who helps clients learn to work with their unique neurotype, mental health, learning differences, and disabilities while acknowledging and navigating systemic challenges as a team. With Amanda, clients practice tapping into their inner strengths, community support, self-compassion, metacognition, and self-advocacy in order to feel more empowered in and outside of the classroom.

Born and raised in Sacramento, Amanda (they/she) holds degrees from UC Berkeley in Art and American Studies with a focus on Race, Culture and Identity in Urban Schools. In their 13 years as an educator, they have also taught art and high school English, mentored and trained other tutors, directed an afterschool program, and worked with several local youth programs.

Together, they and their clients tackle the emotional, cognitive & social aspects of learning and navigating life. In addition to content, they address motivation, focus, time management, task initiation, follow-through, and other executive function and life skills through a trauma-informed, strengths-based, anti-capitalist, & anti-racist lens. In sessions, Amanda and clients practice values-based goal-setting; collaboratively identify personalized strategies, practices, and accommodations; identify the roots of challenges; hold space for emotions; and practice scaffolded work periods to initiate hard tasks. They help clients build long-term habits and study skills that actually work. Amanda builds meaningful connections with their clients, who often return to work with them year after year!

When they're not tutoring, Amanda works as Director of Instructional Support for a tutoring business. In their spare time, they like to walk the Bay, play videogames, & make and sell slime (at East Bay Slimes) for stimming and stress relief!

ADHD

For the past 12+ years, I've supported teenage and adult ADHD clients with executive functioning and academic subjects. I'm a resource specialist and tutor supervisor for a local tutoring business that specializes in supporting neurodivergent K-12 students, many of whom have ADHD in addition to other forms of neurodivergence. As part of my role, I write content about and train our rotating staff of ~50 tutors on best practices for supporting ADHDers and other neurodivergent students from a trauma-informed, strengths-based, anti-capitalist, and anti-racist lens. In my own coaching practice, I draw from my lived experience and that of my clients, friends, and loved ones with ADHD.

For the past 12+ years, I've supported teenage and adult Autistic clients with executive functioning and academic subjects. I'm a resource specialist and tutor supervisor for a local tutoring business that specializes in supporting neurodivergent K-12 students, many of whom are Autistic in addition to holding other neurodivergent identities. As part of my role, I write content about and train our rotating staff of ~50 tutors on best practices for supporting Autistic students and other neurodivergent students from a trauma-informed, strengths-based, anti-capitalist, and anti-racist lens. In my own coaching practice, I draw from the lived experience of my Autistic clients, friends, and loved ones, as well as overlapping experiences with my own neurodivergence.
Career Development

Career Development

As an executive functioning coach, I help clients of all neurotypes (particularly adults with ADHD) navigate life skills related to career development, such as job searching and applications; starting a small business or self-employment practice; navigating workplace communication; self-accommodation at work; and executive functioning skills related to the workplace, such as motivation, task initiation, metacognition, organization, and more. I've worked with a variety of adults and teens in various stages of their career journey, and also draw from my experience as a Life Skills teacher at Fusion Academy. My clients and I practice values-based goal setting; collaboratively identify strategies, supports, rhythms, and accommodations to help you work toward your goals; and dig deeper into the root of your executive functioning and work-related challenges.
