Hello! My name is Annie P. and I recently graduated from UC Berkeley with double majors in Applied Mathematics and Economics.
I scored a perfect 800 on the SAT Math section and am passionate about helping students improve their mathematical reasoning and confidence to achieve their target SAT score. Whether you're aiming to master foundational concepts or push your score into the 700-800 range, I'm committed to tailoring each lesson to your learning style while helping you develop a deep understanding of the material and reach your goals.
In addition, I have over 14 years of abacus and mental math experience at the United Abacus Arithmetic Association (UAAA), and competed in and won multiple Grand Champion (First Place Overall) titles in national and international abacus competitions in locations including Anaheim, Taiwan, and Japan.
I have 8+ years in tutoring experience from teaching students abacus in classroom settings and one-on-one sessions, including online instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through these experiences, I have learned how to adapt my teaching style to each student's learning pace, goals, and individual needs.
Beyond abacus, I am passionate about mathematics, quantitative problem-solving, and economics. I value solidifying the foundation of math in economic concepts and understanding economic issues from a quantitative standpoint. As a UC Berkeley graduate with a strong background in mathematics and economics, I strive to help students build confidence, strengthen their analytical and computational skills, and develop genuine enjoyment for learning.
Feel free to reach out with any questions and I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals!
