Hi! My name is Juliana, or Juli! I’m currently a Third-year student at UC Berkeley double majoring in Integrative Biology and Dance and Performance Studies on the Pre-Medical track. In High School I earned many educational awards including the: International Baccalaureate Certificate, Seal of Biliteracy for Mandarin, and State Award for Academic Decathlon.
In terms of teaching, I previously taught at a well-known learning center. There, I taught and helped improve students’ Math and English skills, graded English and Math work, and unofficially organized team bonding activities. Through the learning center, I’ve been able to work with 10-12 students on average on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis within a 4 hour shift. All students were in Elementary school and all reported to improve as students significantly while under my tutoring. Aside from the learning center, I also have experience teaching students how to dance as a teacher’s assistant at my studio.
Last year, I worked with some students through Wyzant and another tutoring company to teach Middle School students in various Math (Algebra I, Algebra II, PreCalc, AP Calc) and Science subjects. I adapt really well with students as I’ve had a lot of experience with it, and as I previously hoped to be a teacher, I’m hoping tutoring will help me learn more about the possibility of being one!
