I'm Vicram, an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley studying Computer Science. I maintained a high GPA throughout high school and am well aware of the pressure to do well. I have gained scores of 4 on AP Computer Science, AP Physics 1 and C, and AP Language. I have gained scores of 5 on AP Calculus BC, AP Literature, and AP Government. I have a passion for tutoring students in Mathematics and Computer Science, from middle school to high school. In my free time, I love to read books, code, and/or listen to music. I recently participated in my first hackathon and it was an amazing experience! I remembered how challenging it feels to learn something new again, especially under a time crunch. I want to help streamline the process for others in their academic journey!
I use a drawing tablet in my lessons so I'm able to quickly set up problems to help bridge gaps in understanding and give real-life examples to expand on the relevancy on the topics learned. I began tutoring as a hobby and have continued doing so ever since. I have tutored students in Math through other programs such as The Passion Project and To The Limit Math for over two years. I am taking a course in college which explains different tutoring courses and their corresponding efficiency. Armed with this knowledge, I am currently assisting freshman and sophomores at Berkeley High School with math. My tutoring method is to first gauge students' understanding and expand their knowledge using example problems. Then, I will ask the student to walk me through a similar problem.
I am well qualified to tutor middle to high school level math. I have taken classes from Algebra 1 to Calculus in high school and excelled. I have received a score of 1530 on the SAT (790 Math, 740 ERW) and scores of 5 on the AP Calculus BC and AP English Literature exams.
