Hi! I'm Dr. M. I have my M.D. from Southwestern University. I was PreMed at Villanova University where I obtained my bachelor's degree. I am currently a professor at Solano Community College where I teach Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Honors dissection. I am the co-advisor to the PreMed Club at Solano. The PreMed Club helps students that are planning on attending medical school get the resources they need to be competitive applicants. I have previously taught at Atlantic Cape Community College, Carrington College (medical assisting), Diablo Valley College, Los Medanos College, and Evergreen Valley College. I have 14 years experience teaching Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Human Biology. I've taught students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in an in person classroom/laboratory setting as well as over Zoom. I would like to tutor students in high school as well as the undergraduate and graduate levels, especially those that are considering a career in health sciences.
I am passionate when it comes to teaching and I want to help you succeed. When it comes to learning about anatomy, physiology, or biology, I take a very "hands-on" approach to make sure students are able to understand the material. I was also a visual learner when I went through school, so I make sure students are able to see models, images, and diagrams to help them visualize structures. I tend to use my clinical experience and some added humor to help with the more challenging concepts that are encountered in these subjects. I feel this helps students go from just understanding what is found in a text to applying it in everyday clinical situations.
I believe in creating an environment that allows students to feel comfortable asking questions and encourages learning as well as critical thinking. I will work with parents and students to set realistic goals and expectations. I do have a fairly quick response time. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out and message me or schedule a lesson.
