Hello! My name is Ashley. I graduated with honors, earning bachelor’s degrees in Biology and English Literature, and I also hold a medical doctorate.
My passion for teaching comes from my own experiences as a student. I often found rote learning challenging; I needed to understand the "why" and "how" behind the material to truly grasp the "what." Exploring topics beyond the classroom not only helped me excel academically but also sparked a lifelong love for learning. I believe every learning opportunity is a journey, and my goal is to guide students toward those mic-drop “Wow! This makes so much sense” moments.
With over ten years of diverse teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of tutoring for the SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE verbal sections. Additionally, I served as a teaching assistant in medical school Anatomy and Histology and conducted college-level calculus tutoring. I’ve supported students across middle school, high school, and college in both Biology and English, and I’m open to exploring other subjects as well.
I focus on student-led learning by adapting sessions to fit individual learning styles. My tutoring can range from structured topic reviews to interactive practice discussions. Recognizing that no two students are alike, I tailor each session to their unique needs.
