My connection with the French language began at age one when my family lived abroad in Geneva, Switzerland, for three years. I then attended the Lycée Français while living in Singapore. After returning to the United States, I continued developing my French skills to retain fluency through private tutoring, after-school programs, and independent practice before formally studying French during high school. I am currently a student at Wake Forest University pursuing a French minor alongside a double major in politics/international relations and economics. Through this minor, I continue to deepen my understanding of the language structure, culture, and communication.
I have experience supporting students through one-on-one tutoring and academic assistance. In high school, I served as a California Scholarship Federation tutor, where I helped fellow students strengthen their understanding of course material through personalized review and guided practice. I have also provided ongoing support to my younger brother in his French 3 class, helping him review grammar concepts, prepare for assessments, and build confidence in his French skills.
My tutoring approach focuses on making French approachable, engaging, and tailored to each student's goals. I love to help and am a very disciplined, organized, and sociable person, which translates into my tutoring skills. My teaching style is composed of a mixture of oral discussion and guided note-taking and practice. I am dedicated to work with students until they achieve confidence, accuracy, and success. I am most comfortable working with intermediate through advanced French students, including middle school, high school, and introductory college learners, whether they need help with coursework, exam preparation, or improving their overall fluency.
