Hello! My name is Fotini and I am currently a third year UC Berkeley student studying English and Linguistics. I have an associates degree from College of San Mateo in English and have had previous tutoring and teaching experience. I have worked extensively with children of all ages in a plethora of different settings; from classrooms, in-home, out in my community, and beyond. The ages of students I have previously taught have ranged from five years old to thirteen. I believe that I have a firm grasp on understanding the experiences of children and adolescents as I am able to meet them where they are at and engage with their interests. In my work with children as a Classroom Facilitator, Lunch Aid, Childcare Provider, Academic Tutor, Support Mentor, and Classroom Aid, I have been given the opportunity to learn about the desires, dynamics, and needs of children which I think will lend itself nicely to your academic needs.
My passion for literature and all things related to reading and the relaying of information through writing has been a constant in my life that I believe interplays quite well with what will be asked of me as a tutor. I believe that teamwork is the best way to make progress and I really enjoy meeting students where they are at. I value and look forward to making progress in students' learning and skills, however that may look for you. I am so excited to work with you and to figure out the pace and approach that best works for you!
