I have a strong background in Geology with up to 4 years of experience tutoring college students in Earth and Physical Sciences both in Africa and in the United States. My diverse experience from different backgrounds has helped refine my teaching style over the years, where I have tutored hundreds of students and have helped strengthen their passion for sciences. Through my teaching, many students have developed interests in Geology and other Earth/Physical science majors, and have pursued careers in these fields. I have a Master's degree in Geology from California State University, Long Beach, and a Bachelors in Geological Sciences from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. I don't only have 4 years of academic experience teaching fundamentals of geology and physical sciences, I also have technical and field experience working on several geology projects, which has helped me offer real-world examples/scenarios to my students for a better understanding of the subject matters. Specifically, I can teach various topics in geology, conduct and supervise associated lab and fieldwork.
My computer-related skills are broad--I have experience using several geospatial software such as Petrel, Kingdom for generating maps and wells for oil and gas exploration. I also have experience using design tools including Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop and can help students create professional-looking figures (maps and cross-sections). I am an ardent science reader with great writing skills--I can help review and proofread your science writings and papers. To top it up, I am very artistic and creative, and I tend to make creative and beautiful illustrations to enhance students' understanding of my teachings.
