I have several years of tutoring experience, working with students from the elementary level through college. I’ve helped younger students build confidence in foundational math and reading skills, and I’ve worked with high school and college students on more advanced writing, literary analysis, and argumentation in English. Most of my experience has been in one-on-one settings, where I can focus on each student’s specific needs, but I’ve also supported small groups in a more guided study or review format.
My tutoring style is patient, direct, and focused on understanding rather than memorization. I like to start by asking students to walk me through how they’re currently thinking about a problem, so I can identify where things are breaking down. From there, I break concepts into smaller, manageable steps and use clear examples to show the underlying logic. I emphasize practice, honest feedback, and building good habits, so that students not only do better on the next test or assignment but also feel more confident as independent learners.
