I have a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Bakersfield, and I have also completed Kodály Level 1 training in music education. I am currently continuing my education through graduate-level coursework at the University of La Verne. For the past two years, I have worked as an elementary music teacher, teaching general music to students in grades TK through 5th grade and working with beginning band students in 4th and 5th grade.

My teaching experience includes helping students learn basic music concepts such as rhythm, note reading, musical symbols, steady beat, and beginning music theory. I also have experience teaching beginning brass students on trumpet, trombone, and baritone. I focus on skills such as proper posture, breathing, tone production, fingerings or slide positions, reading music, and building confidence on the instrument.

My approach is patient, encouraging, and step-by-step. I understand that every student learns differently, so I use modeling, repetition, visual examples, and guided practice to make music easier to understand. I especially enjoy working with beginning musicians and helping students build a strong foundation without making them feel overwhelmed. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students can improve their skills, ask questions, and enjoy making music.

Algebra 1

I can help students understand foundational Algebra 1 concepts, including expressions, equations, inequalities, graphing, functions, exponents, and word problems. As an experienced educator, I know how to break complicated problems into smaller and more understandable steps. I encourage students to explain their reasoning so I can identify misunderstandings and provide targeted support. My goal is to strengthen both mathematical skills and confidence.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I have experience working with students with diverse learning needs and am currently completing graduate-level coursework in inclusive education. I can support students with autism by using clear routines, visual supports, modeling, repetition, and step-by-step instruction to help them develop academic skills and increase independence. I can also work on social skills such as communication, taking turns, following directions, and appropriately interacting with others in a supportive learning environment. When appropriate, I can incorporate hands-on activities that support coordination and fine motor development while keeping lessons structured, encouraging, and adapted to each student’s individual needs.
Composition (Music)

I have two years of experience teaching elementary general music, band, and choir to students in grades TK–5. I have taught students the fundamentals of rhythm, melody, harmony, musical form, dynamics, and notation. I also have experience helping beginning musicians create simple melodies and organize musical ideas into compositions. My tutoring approach focuses on breaking concepts into manageable steps and helping students build a strong musical foundation.
Elementary Math

I also help students identify the important information in word problems and choose the correct operation. My goal is to strengthen their fundamentals while helping them become more confident and independent.

I explain each problem step by step and use practical examples such as coins, dice, cards, and everyday situations. My teaching experience has helped me recognize where students become confused and present concepts in more accessible ways. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind a solution instead of only memorizing a formula.
