My educational foundation begins with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Development from Vanguard University, which gave me a deep grounding in how students learn, process information, and develop cognitively. I am currently completing a Master of Education at Point Loma Nazarene University, where my Masters Thesis focuses specifically on how organizational tools affect executive functioning in middle school students with ADHD. I hold a Clear California Single Subject Credential in English, cleared in 2025.
Over the past eight years I have worked across multiple California school districts in both substitute and full-time teaching roles at the middle and high school level. For the past two years I have been a full-time 7th grade English Language Arts teacher at a Title I middle school in Bakersfield, where I teach approximately 160 students across six periods daily. My classroom experience spans general education settings, one-on-one support, and small group instruction with students ranging in age from 11 to 18. I specialize in English Language Arts for grades 6 through 12, with particular expertise supporting students who struggle with attention, organization, and executive functioning.
My tutoring approach is relationship-first and systems-based. I begin by understanding how a specific student processes information before introducing any strategy or tool. I use a combination of analog and digital organizational systems, task deconstruction, and neuroplasticity-based techniques to help students build sustainable habits. I am experienced working with English language learners, students with ADHD, and students in general education classrooms who have never received formal support but need a different approach to succeed.
