I obtained a B.A. in Physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I currently hold a Single Subject teaching credential that authorizes physics, chemistry, and all levels of math up to and including Calculus BC. I began tutoring in 2012 (13 years ago), became a lead tutor for that company, then obtained my Master's Degree in Education from University of La Verne. I have been a full-time classroom instructor since 2014. I am currently the math department chair for a high school and have taught Prealgebra, Algebra, CAHSEE prep, Geometry, Calculus AB & BC, AP Physics 1, Physics, and Chemistry. I spent my first two years teaching at a continuation school for credit recovery - all junior and senior students - and since 2017, I have taught various subjects and tutored at a comprehensive school site. I am an advocate for equitable standards-based grading, BTC (Building Thinking Classrooms), and having students collaborate through practice during the class period using vertical whiteboards. I have experience teaching through Zoom (COVID forced us to master this) and have made many asynchronous lesson videos.
