Hi, my name is Romil! I will be teaching SAT prep as well as grade school and college mathematics. I feel quite qualified to teach students these subjects as I had a good hold of them back when I was in school. I tested at 2180 on the SAT, back when it was out of 2400. I received mostly straight A’s in math classes both in middle and high school and in college. I have a Bachelor's degree from Cal Poly and a Master's degree from USC, both in Biomedical Engineering. I also have a minor in computer science. I was on the dean's list nearly every semester (gpa above 3.5) so I received very good grades during my time in college.
I have officially tutored a class in engineering called Thermodynamics during my undergraduate degree. I really enjoyed my tutoring experience and enjoyed helping the student understand the concepts. In each session, we went over the new concepts being taught and worked to make sure that the concepts were understood. Also, during my classes, I would often help and teach my fellow classmates the material. I really enjoyed this process as well, aiding in them understanding the material. The subjects I would do this for were physics, chemistry, math, and a whole bunch of engineering courses.
Depending on whether you are looking for SAT prep or math tutoring, I will be approaching our tutoring sessions differently. If you are looking for SAT prep, I will be going over strategies for each question type. Since the SAT has the same pattern of questions, I will look to make sure you get a good hold of each question type.
If you are looking for math tutoring, I want to make sure you have an intuitive understanding of the concepts that way it will come easy especially come test time. I want to make sure you feel at ease with the material.
