I am a native French speaker, raised bilingual in French and English from birth, with French heritage. I am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree, where I study philosophy, after completing my high school diploma. I do not hold a formal teaching certification, but I have built up 5 years of consistent tutoring experience working one-on-one with students.
Over those 5 years, I have tutored middle school and high school students (roughly ages 11–18) in French, both in person and online. Most of my work has been private one-on-one sessions, helping students with their regular school coursework, homework, conjugation and grammar drills, reading comprehension, oral practice, and preparation for tests and final exams. I have worked with students at every level from beginner French 1 through to advanced and AP-level material.
My methodology is adaptive rather than scripted. I start each new student with a short informal assessment to see where they are, what is giving them trouble, and what their goal is — whether that's catching up, building confidence, or preparing for a specific exam. From there I build lessons around their actual needs, mixing structured grammar work with conversational practice and authentic materials (short texts, articles, songs) so that students get real exposure to the language alongside the rules.
Because I am fully bilingual, I can explain difficult concepts in English when a student is stuck, then switch back into French as soon as they are ready — which I have found especially effective for English-speaking learners who feel lost in a French-only environment.
