Hello! I am a writing and academic skills tutor with a background in political science, legal research, and over ten years of tutoring experience. I graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a B.A. in Political Science and a 3.86 GPA, where I received both Dean’s and Chancellor’s Honors. My academic training emphasized analytical writing, research, and argument development. Professionally, I work in legal writing and research, where I draft and edit legal documents, analyze case materials, and communicate complex ideas clearly and precisely. This experience has strengthened my ability to help students structure arguments, write persuasively, and develop strong critical thinking skills.
Alongside my professional work, I have provided private academic tutoring since 2019 for students ranging from elementary school through college. I work primarily in one-on-one settings and tailor lessons to each student’s goals and learning style. I have supported students with English writing, reading comprehension, essay development, foreign languages, and general academic skills. I have also helped students prepare for exams such as the SAT and guided high school students through the college application and essay writing process.
My teaching approach focuses on helping students think clearly and communicate effectively. Rather than simply correcting work, I guide students through how to organize ideas, develop strong arguments, and express themselves with clarity and confidence. Because I am multilingual in Korean and Spanish, I am also able to support students from diverse language backgrounds who may be developing their English writing and communication skills.
