Hi I'm Ilaina! I graduated in 2020 with my Bachelor's Degree in Biology from a University in Texas. I was able to graduate with Cum Laude honors while being on an athletic soccer scholarship. After graduating I went to graduate school to pursue my Master's Degree in Education. I have always had a passion for Science and made the decision to pursue a teaching career.
During my Master's Program I taught honors and AP Biology to Freshmen and Juniors in High School. I think I am a great candidate to tutor in Sciences because I have had hands on experience with the subject as well as teaching it to students in a way that was understood. I practiced writing lesson plans, creating worksheets, writing assessments, and presentations. While in my program I was also able to finish my coursework to complete my teaching credential.
Since graduating I have been a substitute teacher for multiple school districts, teaching preschool through Juniors in High School. My goal is to continue to support students in their academic goals and achieve the level of success they are shooting for. Science can be a difficult subject to understand, especially in a large setting like a classroom with 25 other students. Tutoring 1 on 1 will allow your student to get the undivided attention and help they need in order to be successful. After all, we all know learning isn't a "one size fits all", differentiating instruction and explaining concepts should be personalized to each individual student.
