Hello everyone!
It is lovely to meet you! My name is Eva, and I am originally from the Czech Republic. I hold a PhD from Molecular and Cellular Biology (Faculty of Science) and a bachelor’s degree from in Foreign Language Teaching (Faculty of Education). I completed my studies in the Czech Republic, specifically in Brno, the second largest city.
I moved to Los Angeles more than six years ago to work as a Postdoctoral Researcher at USC. In the fall semester of 2023, I began teaching part-time at MiraCosta College. In the spring of 2024, I taught as a part-time instructor at both MiraCosta College and Woodbury University in Burbank. Since the fall of 2024, I have been a full-time faculty member at Glendale Community College (GCC).
In Europe, I accumulated 3 years of teaching experience at university and 1 year at high school. My tutoring experience dates back fifteen years to when I started one-on-one sessions with students needing assistance during high school!
I can offer support in tutoring for the subjects I teach, including Introduction to Chemistry, Introduction to Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Genetics, Molecular basis of Cancer, Viruses, and Environmental Studies. Additionally, I am available to tutor English to those for whom it is a second language.
I can provide assistance at various levels: elementary school, high school, college, and university.
Teaching is my greatest passion, and it would be my pleasure to work with you!
