As a former college dropout, I know firsthand the obstacles that can get in the way of an education. As a current college instructor, I know firsthand what colleges are looking for in great student writing. I bring over a decade of classroom teaching experience to my tutoring. I'm great at helping students to recognize their existing skills as we develop new ones....

I'm great at helping students to recognize their existing skills as we develop new ones.
I work one-on-one with students to determine their interests and abilities. By starting with global issues in a student's writing, I can help a student to figure out what they want to say before we delve deeply into the most effective way to say it. It's helpful to see the big picture before you get to the nitty gritty details. I use lesson plans to introduce new topics and we use freewriting to avoid writer's block. I will go over a student's paper and prioritize my feedback to focus on the most pressing issues first.
I care deeply about students. It's why I got into teaching in the first place. I had teachers who made learning fun for me and I want to do the same for others. It is my goal to push students from where they are at, increasing skills and confidence across the board.
