I am an Italian-American, born and breed in the Bay Area. My father's great-great grandfather, a Sicilian, came to Ellis Island in 1893. When I was a teenager, I only knew a handful of words, all through my father's occasional teaching. Anthony started to teach immediately upon arrival and stayed as long as we felt we could soak in the grammar and some vocabulary. He is very calm and kind, reliable, responsive and with great knowledge about Italy and Italian art history and literature.

Inspiring and Motivating Teacher
Anthony began by assessing my knowledge of Italian and determining how best to help me reach my goals. I have taken Italian lessons intermittently over several years, but I am decidedly out of practice. Anthony balanced review of basics with engaging me in simple conversations, which were supported by vocabulary review. Anthony provided just the jump start I needed to recommence my study of conversational Italian.

We really enjoyed our session with Anthony. Since he is a native English speaker who learned Italian on his own, he was very attuned to the needs of students learning a foreign language. He was prepared with worksheets and sample dialogues that we might use on our trip to Italy. He worked at a comfortable pace and was very patient. We would highly recommend him.
