Bio

I was an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh in Rhetoric and Communications with a minor in English, then EdM from Harvard's School of Education. I have taught in K-12 and Adult Education for 20 years in the State of California. I have also tutored through the Home Instruction program for many districts in which I have worked. I have also contracted with the State of California in educational rehab programs for the military service personnel. I can tutor you in all K-12 subjects...

I have taught in K-12 and Adult Education for 20 years in the State of California. I have also tutored through the Home Instruction program for many districts in which I have worked. I have also contracted with the State of California in educational rehab programs for the military service personnel. I can tutor you in all K-12 subjects (Math only through Algebra 2) and can tutor most General Education courses for an AA. I am a certified CA teacher who has passed my own CBEST test. I teach testing and test taking skills which can be applied to any testing situation. I would be able to assist with the CBEST. I have taught in K-12 and Adult Education for 20 years in the State of California.

I have provided home/hospital instruction for Stockton Unified School District students that are too ill to attend regular school. I have had the opportunity to tutor K-6. In addition, during my off time, I have also substituted for Stockton Unified often for K-6 when they were using the track system. I am a regular High School English teacher but in addition to my single subject credential in English and Social Studies, I also have a Multiple Subject credential with CLAD.

I am able to help any student make progress from where they are to a more advanced level by understanding the key elements in the writing process.

I have taught GED for Oroville High School and Adult Ed before coming to Stockton Unified. I worked several years at Stagg High School and School for Adults where I taught a variety of classes including GED. I am currently teaching GED at Delta College.

Great Tutor , Very patient, speaks spanish

Maria is currently tutoring my girlfriend for ESL. She is very patient and knows what she is doing. My girlfriend feels very comfortable with her and is learning a lot. Maria always comes prepared and looks for the best way for the student to learn and comprehend what she is teaching. I would totally recommend her as a tutor any day.

Tremendous Tutor!

At the start, Maria was tutoring me for the SAT Reading & Writing as well as Math. Her method for approaching the multiple-choice was outstanding.
