I hold a Master of Science in Mathematics with an Emphasis in Education from Grand Canyon University. For four years, I taught mathematics at Glendale Preparatory Academy, where I taught Algebra I, Precalculus, Calculus I & II, and Calculus III/Advanced Math Topics. I currently teach at Young Public School, a small rural school, where I teach mathematics to middle school and high school students across a wide range of courses and ability levels.
Rather than simply demonstrating procedures, I enjoy working alongside students to help them understand why mathematical concepts work. I enjoy breaking complex problems into manageable steps, providing targeted support when needed, and gradually reducing assistance as students gain confidence and competence.
I also emphasize mathematical communication. Students are encouraged to show their work, justify their solutions, and discuss their thought processes. This strengthens conceptual understanding and helps them become more independent learners.
My goal is not only to help students succeed in their current coursework but also to equip them with the analytical thinking skills and confidence needed for future academic success.
