I have a deep passion for both mathematics and computer science, which I consider my two favorite subjects. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I've had the privilege of supporting students in these areas. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Wayne State University. Additionally, I completed a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Computer Science from Drexel University, and I will be completing my Master of Science in Computer Science at Georgia Tech this fall. I am excited to also be working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Georgia Tech this semester.

My experiences as a Teaching Assistant, Head Tutor, and private tutor have strengthened my belief in the power of personalized instruction. What I love most about tutoring is the opportunity to help students achieve their learning goals. I am particularly inspired by the dedication and commitment that students show when tackling challenging subjects like math or programming.

My approach to tutoring is centered on patience and enthusiasm. I take great joy in making a positive difference in students' academic lives, and nothing makes me happier than seeing a student succeed in understanding complex concepts. I am dedicated to creating an encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring difficult topics.

I specialize in tutoring a wide range of mathematical and programming subjects, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Calculus, Geometry, Linear Algebra, Precalculus, ACT Math, C++, Discrete Mathematics, Elementary Math, Java, Microsoft Excel, Prealgebra, Probability, Python, SQL, Statistics, Trigonometry, Abstract Algebra, and Analysis. I am always available to help students overcome their academic challenges and reach their full potential.

Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and help you achieve your academic goals. Please feel free to contact me at your convenience to schedule a lesson.

I have taken beginner and intermediate C++ at Wayne State University and passed both of those courses with an A.
Data Analysis

Data Analysis

I have a solid foundation in data analysis backed by academic training and real-world experience. With a Master’s degree in Computer Science and professional roles as a Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer, I’ve developed and applied core data analysis skills such as data cleaning, exploratory data analysis (EDA), statistical inference, and hypothesis testing. I'm proficient in tools like Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn), Excel, SQL, and Tableau, allowing me to guide students through both technical and conceptual aspects of data analysis. I’ve also tutored students at various levels, helping them understand how to draw meaningful conclusions from data, communicate insights effectively, and approach problems critically. My teaching style focuses on breaking down complex ideas and encouraging hands-on learning to build confidence and competence in data analysis.
Discrete Math

Discrete Math

I work as a Head Mathematics Tutor at Wayne State University and I have helped many students with Discrete Mathematics. I have taken Abstract Algebra, Analysis, and Probability at my University to help students who struggle with Discrete Mathematics.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

I am qualified to teach Linear Algebra because I am a Mathematics major at Wayne State University and I believe I am qualified to tutor students with this subject because of the following reasons. I took this course at Wayne State in the spring/summer semester of 2016 and I have received a B (grade) in the course. I thoroughly enjoyed Linear Algebra. And I know most of the concepts of Linear Algebra still. While I was a Teaching Assistant at Wayne State University, students who were taking that course would come to me during my office hours and I would guide them on how to solve each problem step-by-step. When their exams came up, they felt very confident during the exams.
Machine Learning/ AI

Machine Learning/ AI

I hold a Master of Science in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning, and I served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a graduate-level Machine Learning course at Georgia Tech. My academic background includes hands-on experience with a wide range of machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, ensemble methods, neural networks, and optimization techniques. Professionally, I’ve worked as a Machine Learning Engineer and Data Scientist, applying ML models in real-world settings, including predictive modeling, fraud detection, and customer behavior analysis. I have a strong passion for teaching and have tutored students at various levels in mathematics, computer science, and artificial intelligence, using clear explanations, real-world examples, and active problem-solving techniques to support deep understanding.
Python

Python

Worked on many projects during career and schooling utilizing the Python programming language. Familiar with the Python external libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Sklearn, NLTK, etc.
Tableau

Tableau

I am a Tableau Certified data professional with hands-on experience in creating insightful, interactive dashboards that support data-driven decision-making. I’ve used Tableau extensively in both academic and professional settings to visualize complex datasets, track KPIs, and uncover actionable trends. My work includes integrating Tableau with various data sources, designing user-friendly interfaces, and applying calculated fields, filters, and parameters to highlight key insights. With a strong background in data science and machine learning, I ensure that every visualization is not only visually compelling but also grounded in sound analytical principles.

Machine learning review

Machine learning and language processing is one of the most difficult subjects taught in the modern day classroom setting. Renee is not only patient but very flexible and hard working to teach machine learning. Great option

Excellent Math teacher

Renee goes above and beyond to help the student understand the subject. She is an excellent tutor and has helped our son get a better understanding of precalculus. Hope this will hold him in good stead for the next school year

Great Math tutor

Renee worked with my 8th greater on geometry. Renee is very personable. In the past, working with tutors was quite serious work for my daughter. With Renee, my daughter had a good time. There was laughing and lots of smiles during the session. She explained things really, really well.

Very knowledgeable tutor

She answered all my daughters Precalculus questions. After a session with her my daughter felt more confident in taking her test the following week. Would definitely use her again in the future.

Great Algebra 2 Tutor

Renee was able to bring my low Algebra 2 grade up a full letter in just one lesson with her. She was able to explain things to me so they finally made sense. After one lesson with her, I do not feel lost in class anymore.

Excellent tutor.

Renee taught me a lot of the units in Algebra II that I was behind on, and she was patient, and made sure that I understood the math behind the problems. Highly recommend her.

An awesome tutor

Renee helped my daughter Hanna with the Pre-Calculus subjects of Laws of Exponents, Laws of Radicals, How to solve a Radical Equation, the definition of a derivative, and how to solve an inequality. Renee even taught her a bit of Calculus I, How to solve a Radical Equation using Newtons Method and How to derive a polynomial. My daughter told me that Renee made things very easy to understand for her and made her more confident in the subjects she was struggling in. We have scheduled additional tutoring session with her and highly recommend her!
