I began my pedagogical career as an undergraduate TA for Calculus III in the Spring of 2019, and as a TA for Linear Algebra in the Fall of 2019. In my final semester in 2020, I took on the role of a mathematics tutor at the University of Arizona’s Think Tank helping students tackle the Calculus sequence. After graduation, I refined my pedagogy from 2020 to 2022 as a teacher for statistics and algebra at the high school level here in Tucson, AZ. Now I have experience as the instructor for intro statistics courses, and have recently taken on the role as an instructor for students learning discrete math, introductory proofs, and algorithmic analysis. Moreover, I’ve spent over 200 hours independently tutoring on the platform helping students meet their content needs in subjects ranging from statistics to introductory C.

My experience teaching underserved populations encouraged me to take an approach to education that emphasizes students strengths over their weaknesses. I approach problems with the intent to tie them to students' existing knowledge and help solidify content gaps. By helping students discover concepts through personal inquiry, sequences of scaffolded questioning, and concrete examples of content, students develop a stronger long term understanding of the concepts they are trying to learn. I am poised to help students that are already struggling to gain their footing, but also to encourage students who are currently performing well and want to push their understanding further given my own in-depth familiarity with the material I teach. I have tutored students from early high school, college freshman, seniors, and even adult learners.

If you are looking for a tutor who will emphasize your long-term understanding of a subject, has a deep enough content knowledge to help you approach your goals from multiple angles, and has experience meeting students where they are, I encourage you to reach out! I look forward to the opportunity to work with you, and I wish you well in your studies.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

During my time working at a charter school for underrepresented youth I gathered two years of experience helping students grapple with the concepts in algebra 1. Moreover, my work as a graduate teaching assistant often leads to helping students with their algebra skills to supplement other instruction. Spending so much time with the subject has allowed me to refine not just my performance in, but my ability to explain the material.
C

C

During my time at the University of Arizona i have specialized in numerical analysis with a focus on using the computing power of C to create efficient programs. I have experience with the development of parallel and distributed programming in the context of computing. I have a learned proficiency in the tools needed to compile and produce programs (gcc, gdb, Makefiles), and experience with the usage of ssh for remote code execution.
Calculus

Calculus

I have had years of experience with the calculus sequence, starting from high school when i scored a 5 on the BC exam. After that, I proceeded to the multivariate sequence at the University and took their honors course in vector calculus. Since then I have served in some capacity as an undergraduate teaching assistant or tutor for the calculus sequence.
Discrete Math

Discrete Math

As an instructor at the University of Arizona, I teach both an introductory course in algorithmic analysis and discrete mathematics to learners seeking online degrees. I have experience both teaching and designing assignments relating to the study of number-theory concepts in discrete math (modular arithmetic, parity, cryptographic algorithms). Moreover, I have practical experience implementing the content usually tackled in such classes in code for concrete examples.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

During my time at the University of Arizona I worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant for linear algebra and have taken two courses in the subject. In those courses, I received an A. My current graduate coursework includes a strong emphasis on linear algebra beyond the standard requirements of an undergraduate course.
Statistics

Statistics

During my time working at a high school I taught statistics from the standard textbook used in AP Statistics: "The Practice of Statistics". In total I have taught 4 sections of the course with students ranging from Juniors to Seniors. Moreover, much of my graduate coursework requires the application of statistics concepts.
