Hello, my name is Nicole. I have been signing American Sign Language for 17 years. I hold a BS in Nursing, a Master’s in Special Education with an emphasis in Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and training from Phoenix College’s Deaf Studies and ASL/English Interpreting program. I have experience teaching Deaf children and adults life skills and vocational services. Currently, I work as an itinerant Pre-K–8 teacher, using intentional strategies to support student learning and development.

Exceptional tutor
I needed help with the signs for a song; I am doing the signs along with a song for a choir performance. Nicole did not only teach me the signs, but she also went over some of the different aspects and options for each sign. She relayed this through the telling of her own experiences and also finding ASL videos for me to watch so that I could gain a more thorough understanding.

Nicole was very energetic, obviously excited to teach, very knowledgeable and patient with me. I appreciated that she watched closely to make sure that I was signing correctly. Nicole is also going to work with me on the things I’m most interested in. But the best part for me was how encouraging she was, which helped increase my confidence. Nicole was awesome! I highly recommend Nicole if you are looking for someone who is willing to work with you at your pace, is an experienced teacher, and a caring and encouraging tutor.
