I am a graduate student working on my PhD in Canacer Biology at the University of Arizona. I completed my undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Virginia in 2012 and Master's degree in Bioinformatics from George Washington University in 2021. I have taken courses General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, as well as Physics. I am fluent in Urdu and English, with conversational Spanish and Japanese.
I offer a lower rate to students because I conduct those lessons via Skype. If I do have to travel, I request an adjusted rate so as to cover my expenses. I understand the budget constraints that many students face, so by offering a lower rate I have to reduce cost in gas expenses and travel time. I do offer in person sessions, for which my asking rate is $50/hr.
I have been tutoring for 12 years, mostly in Math, Chemistry, Biology across all levels (Middle school to College). I relocated to Tucson, Arizona in 2021 to pursue a PhD in Cancer Biology. Previously, I was in Washington D.C. I am very well traveled and by doing so have experienced and incorporated different manners of educating in my tutoring method. I use positive feedback method, as I believe it gives students confidence in their approach to complex tasks. My approach to tutoring students relies on explanation of material and then pursuing any problem sets or homework assigned. This method allows for any confusion or questions to come up first and be cleared away while maximizing the confidence a student gains from working on the problem sets. Having been tutored at an early age myself, I understand how to keep the interest and attention of students on the task at hand. In addition, I am a patient tutor, not everyone can understand and pick up concepts from the initial encounter with the material, which is why I repeatedly ask questions, emphasize key points, and help students navigate through the material so as to extract the crucial information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
