Hello! My name is Meera, and I am a Neurobiology student at the University of California, San Diego on the pre-medical track, where I am also pursuing a minor in Finance. My academic journey has given me a strong foundation across STEM, mathematics, business, and the humanities. Before college, I attended BASIS Tucson North, one of the nation's top-ranked college preparatory high schools, where I completed approximately 15 Advanced Placement courses and earned strong scores on standardized exams. At UC San Diego, I continue to challenge myself with rigorous upper-level coursework in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and finance while balancing research and academics.
I have experience tutoring students from elementary school through the AP level in mathematics, science, English, and reading. I have worked one-on-one with students of varying ages and learning styles, helping them with homework, exam preparation, concept review, and long-term study skills. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students build confidence and develop a genuine understanding of the material. I believe that every student can succeed when lessons are tailored to their individual needs and learning style.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and interactive. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide students through each concept step by step so they understand the reasoning behind the solution and can apply it independently in the future. I emphasize critical thinking, organization, and effective study habits that extend beyond a single assignment or test. Whether a student is looking to strengthen foundational skills, excel in advanced coursework, or prepare for standardized exams, I am committed to creating a positive learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and reaching their full academic potential.
