If you are looking for a Hebrew tutor, you are likely coming from one of several very different places: maybe you are a college student working through a Hebrew language course, an adult learner who wants to finally understand the prayers you've been reciting for years, a family preparing for a bar or bat mitzvah, or someone who simply wants to speak modern Hebrew with real confidence. I have worked with students at every one of these levels, and my approach in each case is the same; I meet you where you actually are, not where a textbook assumes you should be. I am a native speaker of Hebrew, English, and Spanish, and I hold advanced degrees in my field. I have taught Hebrew at the university level for more than four years, where I developed curriculum from the ground up for students ranging from complete beginners through advanced readers of biblical and literary texts.
My tutoring experience spans middle school through graduate level, in one-on-one sessions, small groups, and remote formats. For Hebrew, I work across modern conversational, biblical, and liturgical registers; which means I can help you with spoken Israeli Hebrew, prepare you for synagogue or lifecycle events, or guide you through a university Hebrew literature course. I bring the same depth to Spanish instruction, English academic writing, and standardized test preparation including the SAT. What sets my teaching apart is that I grew up multilingual across four countries and have spent more than twenty years working professionally as a writer and translator, which means I teach language the way it actually functions, not as a system of rules to memorize. My goal in every session is the moment when you stop translating in your head and start thinking in the language itself.
I offer a free introductory consultation to discuss your goals before committing to lessons. I work remotely and am available for flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends. Please reach out; I would be glad to hear what you are working on.
