I'm Andrew! I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2025 with an Honors Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry [Magna Cum Laude]. I love learning and teaching, both of which I plan to continue doing as I enter my PhD studies at Colorado State University this Fall. I have a deep passion for science, with my favorite fields being molecular biology, genetics, and (of course) biochemistry. I am no stranger to the most difficult STEM courses thanks to my studies, so I am very comfortable tutoring students on the Pre-Med track or who just need some help making their math classes click. I have research experience working with nutritional science, physical chemistry, and agriculture, and am pursuing research in plant physiology and bioengineering next year, so if you are interested in pursuing science as a career, I am always willing to share tokens of advice.
I have teaching and tutoring experience across a variety of different subjects and students. In high school, I was a peer tutor for math classes like Algebra and Geometry. Working one-on-one, I took great pride in helping my peers reach that moment of clarity where everything finally makes sense. In more recent years, I have taught for the Washington English Center as a virtual English as a Second Language teacher. There, I taught adults from other countries the English curriculum outlined by the WEC, but I always liked to make sure I left extra time so that I could help the students through what they were struggling in most (whether it be from class or outside). Additionally, I have worked at the Flandrau Science Center as a part of the Earth Science Discovery team. There, we taught visiting elementary and middle school students about the wonders of the Earth from the rock cycle to the microscopic organisms within the ground. I've done it all teaching-wise: classroom, one-on-one, volunteer, and for work. I love teaching, and hope to get a chance to do it more in the future!
