I have a lot of tutoring experience in a variety of different settings. In high school I did general peer tutoring through my school's Honors Society, as well as algebra tutoring with academic support students. In college I aced my first Differential Equations exam and as a freshmen was hired as a tutor to hold drop-in office hours for students to get help. Later I became an undergraduate learning assistant in Vector Calculus helping in a lecture with over 80 students and held exam prep and homework help sessions. I have also done private one-on-one Calculus tutoring.
My undergraduate degree is in Optical Sciences and Engineering. I study how light works, and have gotten to help design telescopes that are sitting in space, and test them by shooting lasers at them. My field is hand-in-hand with math and physics and I have a lot of applied experience, and am very well suited to help you in your studies. In addition, I have a minor in Applied Mathematics, and am taking Masters coursework in Optical Sciences.
As your tutor, I intend to start from the most basic principles so that no matter where you are coming from we will have an easy time getting you where you need to go. I will show you general problem solving methods that will build your intuition and teach you how to learn math, so that you can apply your thinking and solve brand new problems, instead of memorizing old ones. There are absolutely only good questions, and I am extremely happy to take as much time explaining anything as you desire.
