I love helping students make connections between different topics and gain the confidence to ask questions and develop a deeper understanding of the world. I received my degree from the UofA in Spanish - Hispanic Linguistics, and I love languages. My minor is in Mechanical Engineering, so I have a pretty solid understanding of math and science as well. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
In my years of teaching, I have seen many different skill levels and styles of learning. I understand that there is not one way of learning that works for everyone, so I try and tailor my lessons to fit whichever modality is best for the individual. I have taught grades 9-12, but have tutored middle school as well.
