Hello! My name is Kwame B! I am currently a rising Senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. For my educational background, I have both taken and tutored Statics(A-), Dynamics(B), and Mechanics of Materials(A-). I have effectively explained the concepts of both rigid body and particle mechanics by breaking down the problem step by step, and explaining what I am doing in the problem and why I am doing it. I also have given useful tips on how to approach a problem and think about it from a standpoint that makes sense.

At the classroom setting I have sometimes explained concepts to my college age peers using aids such as sketching out a plot with an equation to help them understand the context of a problem or asking them a few questions to help them process and think on a deeper level to better arrive at a solution to the problem. When explaining a concept, I relate it to previous material in the course in order to help familiarize the listener with what is currently being discussed. I like to accommodate other students' learning styles, so I use visuals to explain an idea, considering that some students are visual learners. I also use analogies to help illustrate an approach to a problem.

Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

I have taken Applied Electrical Theory(A-), and learned about the fundamentals of electric circuits, including but not limited to operational amplifiers, analysis of first order and second order systems, as well as basic signal processing. I also have a strong knowledge of analyzing the steady state and transient response of a signal, which I learned how to do in the Mechanical Vibrations class(A). I have applied this knowledge in hands-on laboratory work in not only the Applied Electrical Theory class, but also the Mechanical Engineering Lab(A) and Controls Engineering I(A) classes.
Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

I have taken Statics (above average grade of A-), Mechanics of Materials (A-), Dynamics (B), Thermodynamics(B), Mechanical Vibrations(A), Controls Engineering I(A), Numerical Methods(A), Applied Electrical Theory(A-) and Mechanical Design(A) and Calculus Based Physics(A). Statics is a prerequisite for both Mechanics of Materials and Dynamics, and Statics is an “enhanced” subset of Calculus Based Physics. In Dynamics, I got the highest final grade in my class section. I have also created a video presentation on Frames & Machines.
Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics

As a rising senior I have taken Thermodynamics(B) earlier in my undergraduate education. I have knowledge and can explain concepts in the following: phases and how they change, work and energy, control volume analysis, mass and volume flow, efficiency, reversible and irreversible processes, entropy cycles(Rankine, Air Standard, Brayton), humidity and psychrometric charts. I have also tutored Statics(A-), Dynamics(B), and Mechanics of Materials(A-).
