I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University as Cum Laude with Bachelor Degrees in both English Writing and Hispanic Studies, where I also worked as a tutor for three years. I assisted a diverse group of students with different kinds of essays, applications, prose, and poems written in English. I also worked as a Spanish language tutor, helping students learn how to read and write in Spanish. I am completely fluent in both English and Spanish, as I was raised in Mexico for most of my life. This upbringing has been the foundation of my tutoring style, focusing on getting to understand the specific strengths and needs of each tutee and developing strategies and curriculums to suit those particular areas. Every person is able to absorb and apply knowledge in their own unique ways, and I believe that acknowledging and taking advantage of this is the most important thing in being a tutor. This is why my teaching experience is focused on one on one interaction with the tutee.
