Before becoming a teacher, I worked in engineering, veterinary medicine and pharmaceutical development, which allows me to help students understand how seemingly abstract information can be applied to real world situations.
I see algebraic equations as mysteries needing to be solved -- which can be fun in a weird way. Math as about the process of learning to think logically, not just finding the right answer.
I have both depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in both the life and physical sciences. I have taught all of these classes and am familiar with where students often get confused and have developed effective strategies and techniques to help students master these difficult concepts.
I would love to help you understand (and maybe even enjoy) science!
