I am Lily! I graduated from Northern Arizona and Pima Community College's current enrollment program in May 2022. This is a 2-year program that upon successful completion leads to an Associate's in Direct Nursing, a Bachelor's in the Science of Nursing, and an opportunity to sit for the NCLEX. I successfully completed the program with a 3.9 GPA. I completed the NCLEX on my first try with 75 questions, finishing in less than 1 hour from the time I sat for the exam. I myself attended tutoring several times throughout nursing school and learned different techniques that work and do not through this process. I participated in a lot of group study sessions and found that speaking through and teaching others is an extremely effective way to solidify new concepts.
Nursing school is already a lot of work with many assignments so in my tutoring approach, I use the required assignments already given to you in class and make them actually useful to your learning process. This method may be adjusted depending on student needs and the available material, but the ultimate goal is to help you learn while avoiding excessive workloads.
With this in mind, study skills as well as time management strategies are essential to success in nursing school. As someone who worked part-time and had an externship throughout an accelerated nursing program, I am confident in my ability to help students better manage their time and study techniques in nursing school.
I was originally a biology major switched to nursing after 2 years, and graduated with a 3.9 GPA.
I scored in the highest skill bands in each of the Accuplacer subject areas and was given the opportunity for honors courses in each subject.
I completed the NCLEX on my first try with 75 questions, finishing in less than 1 hour from the time I sat for the exam. I found many existing study techniques overcomplicated the process of studying for the NCLEX and focused on efficiency in my personal technique.
