Hello,

I'm a medical student in the clinical years and am passionate about teaching complex topics. I'm excited to get to know you and help on your journey of learning!

I don't believe in lecturing, but rather foster an active learning environment. I incorporate various methods and resources into the lesson, such as visuals and mnemonics (medical students), music, TV learning tools (Arabic students). Rather than memorizing, you will remember through better understanding.

Medical Sciences Students: I was a teaching assistant for anatomy, where I held reviews for large classes as well as teaching small groups in the anatomy (cadaver) lab. I also tutored various subjects: anatomy, physiology, neuroanatomy, pathology, biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology. I focus on making sure my students understand so that there is very little need to memorize at all. Most of all, I enjoy being able to see the progress that my students make and the confidence they gain!

I have a high success rate: Recently I had a student who went from 35% on an anatomy exam to 89% in one session! Another student went from a C in medical physiology to an A. Students whom I tutored for their entire first year of medical school had a strong basis for the second year.

Arabic Students: I'm a native speaker of Arabic, educated in Yemen for nine years, where I learned Modern Standard Arabic with grammar as well as Classical. I have 16 years experience tutoring Arabic on this website and independently. I have taught all levels of Arabic from beginner to advanced and all major dialects with the exception of Algerian/Tunesian/Morrocan dialects.

Spanish-speaking students: Si hablas espanol, puedo hablar en espanol tambien aunque no sea perfectamente. Hay similitudes entre el arabe y el espanol que me encantaria compartir contigo.

French-speaking students: Je parle un peu français. Ce n'est pas parfait, mais je peux comprendre une conversation simple et vous montrer les similitudes entre l'arabe et le français.

Amazing Tutor

Ava is really great at tutoring topics that are hard to grasp and very knowledgable! I was struggling in my undergrad Medical Biochemistry course and after getting help from Ava, I was able to score an A on my exam! She is very patient and prepares our lessons beforehand to ensure the material is well understood. The lessons were very engaging and she is very encouraging when teaching. I would highly recommend!

Great approaches

She is patient and the approaches to studying my A & P class I believe will help. I have a quiz next week. just wish she had more availability- she was willing to travel and meet me at my university.
