Currently, I teach at a high-achieving A-rated school, where I provide targeted reading and math intervention for students performing one to two grade levels below their peers. Teaching a child to read is one of the most rewarding experiences, and there is nothing quite like seeing the spark of confidence when a student makes that critical connection between letters, sounds, and words. My approach is rooted in research-based strategies, incorporating the Science of Reading, phonemic awareness activities, and multisensory techniques to help children strengthen their decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills. I also specialize in math fact fluency, using engaging hands-on games, movement-based learning, and manipulatives to build confidence in young learners.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health Sciences with a minor in Human Development & Family Studies from the University of Nevada, Reno. My background in child development allows me to create individualized learning plans that are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and tailored to each child’s needs. I believe that relationship-building, positive reinforcement, and making learning fun are the keys to student success. My tutoring sessions are interactive, student-centered, and follow the “I Do, We Do, You Do” model to ensure students gain independence in their learning.
