I'm Delaney! I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in History & Secondary Education, with a minor in Anthropology. I am working on obtaining my Masters degree in Anthropology at the moment. I realized in college that I love learning about how people have changed and stayed the same over time; I love teaching history the same way, as well as having engaging ways to learn the content.
I have been teaching High School US history for the last 5 years, and AP US History for the past 3 years, raising my school's AP US History scores greatly. Our state test in Arizona is the ACT, and as a US History teacher I have helped raise our ACT reading scores by 2.5% schoolwide last year by implementing reading strategies; I have also had training on ACT Reading strategies, tips, and how the test is designed. I have been teaching ACT reading strategies at my school for the past 4 years. I have been tutoring students for the past 8 years, 5 of those being within my own classroom 1-2 times a week with my own students, the other 3 years was when I was in college as an intern and student teacher, with ages ranging from 6th grade to college Freshmen.
I am also well versed in various forms of writing including: MLA format, APA format, Chicago format, historical research papers, and creative writing (which I partake in personally around 3-4 times a week as my hobby).
I look forward to hearing from you soon! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
