Howdy! My name's Mr. S.
I'm an Arizona state certified Special & General Education Instructor with over 10 years of English, ESL, Reading, and Writing teaching experience under my belt.
I've years of experience to call upon and leverage in the education of your child or yourself.
My style of teaching is fun and creative. I've taught in the general and special education setting (in-person and online) and have zeroed in on what I love to teach and how to make it not only fascinating, but a form of learning that fosters abstract and critical thinking skills.

My focus lies within English/ESL instruction (which includes Reading Comprehension and Fluency) and Academic/Creative Writing:
1) English/ESL; I've taught English K-12 utilizing everything from state sponsored material to literary classic such as Crime and Punishment and Homer's The Iliad. This includes teaching Reading Comprehension as well as Reading Fluency to native and non-native English speakers. I've also taught ESL students abroad utilizing my public speaking skills, nonverbal communication, and a certified education in ESL instruction via Oxford Seminars.
2) Academic/Creative Writing; Writing has been my passion since I wrote a History paper on Genghis Khan in the 5th grade, and I've been unable to keep myself from pen and paper ever since. My bachelor's degree in Anthropology ensured a rigorous approach to academic writing I've only refined as I continue to teach the subject to students young and old.
