Bonjour à vous tous! Both my professional experience and education are extensive. I was an Adjunct faculty member in the French section at ASU, and I've taught at all levels, from FRE101 to FRE 311 (Intermediate Conversation), FRE 312 (Intermediate Composition), and FRE 321 (Business French). My most important qualification, however, is maybe that I love the French language, French literature, and just France in general.

I graduated summa cum laude and with distinction from Arizona State University with both a BA in French and a Master's in French literary criticism and interpretation (sounds fancy, no?). Additionally, I have published several academic articles analyzing late 20th Century French literature through a post-colonialist perspective.
I lived and worked for two years teaching and doing translation in La Fleche, France at the Prytanée National Militaire, a prestigious military academy near the Loire Valley. I return to France each year, and I've spent time in French Polynesia and Quebec as well.
I speak French with near-native fluency, no joke. In fact, at a concert this week three women from France thought I was indeed from France. I can help you get closer to achieving the same, because my heart is in what I do.
I'm told I have a good sense of humor and a likable personality (I'm told that by myself, but the point is that I'm told). I don't scold, judge or criticize my students. On the contrary, I do my utmost to encourage my students, make them feel comfortable and not self-conscious. I work with you, not against you.
In my grown-up job I'm a graphic designer/art director. In my free time, I adore bar fights and scaring sleeping children (that's a joke, I hate bar fights). It's not a joke, however, that I love dogs, foreign travel, foreign languages, most books, nonfat milk, the color yellow (especially Pantone 101U), ABBA and Youtube (especially Mamrie Hart, Grace Helbig and Rhett & Link).
Book an appointment with me and let's see how far we can go toward assuring your mastery of French.
