I hold a BA in English from Rutgers University and a JD from the University of Illinois College of Law and have studied abroad at KU Leuven and St. Peter’s College, Oxford. I bring nearly two decades of teaching and tutoring experience across diverse educational settings, including classroom instruction, program direction, and curriculum development, serving learners from early elementary through graduate school and adults.
I have worked extensively in Title 1 schools, an elite prep academy, and university settings, supporting students from varied cultural and academic backgrounds. My expertise includes academic writing, English language arts, test preparation (AP, SAT, ACT), college admissions essays, competitive academy prep, grammar, task assessment, and study skills. In my most recent role, I supported students reading anywhere from 1st to 12th grade levels, ensuring lessons met them where they are. I have also provided private one-on-one tutoring in writing, graduate paper editing, and standardized test prep.
My approach is student-centered and tailored to individual needs, focusing on critical thinking, clear communication, time management, and confidence building. I adapt teaching methods to each learner’s style and goals and also help students develop technology skills, including using curriculum platforms, Google Workspace, and other educational tools.
Beyond classroom and tutoring work, I have experience editing manuscripts for publication and coaching students through academic and professional writing challenges. I strive to make learning engaging and even a little silly at times—because a fun, supportive environment helps students thrive. My goal is to help students make measurable progress, build lifelong learning skills, and reach their full potential.
