Hello, my name’s Kaylee! I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and I began my college experience at a local community college, where I received an Associate of Arts degree. I am now starting my journey toward a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As a student, some of my proudest moments have been papers, projects, and presentations I was confident would serve as guiding examples for future students. Regarding sewing and arts, I am a trained hobbyist of over 10 years who has won numerous craftsmanship awards for costume work and volunteered in the costume department of a local community college.

Although I am brand new to formal tutoring, I’ve always been one to provide educational guidance and tips to friends and classmates. Outside of academia, I have been running educational panels at pop culture events throughout the Southwest since 2017, where I’ve taught audiences about topics ranging from sewing techniques and fashion design to stage presence and even media analyses. What I’ve learned from each of these experiences and my own educational journey is that learning thrives in an environment where both parties feel comfortable collaborating and communicating. I like to discuss example scenarios and problems along with memorization tools, prompt-reading techniques, brain-storming tips, problem-solving, sharing helpful resources, and more while maintaining a conversational yet professional voice.

Whether it be scientific research papers, short stories, poems, sewing projects, psychology, or math work, I aim to help students gain confidence and feel proud of their learning. I always aim to respond to inquiries in a timely manner to the best of my abilities. If you have any questions about fit, feel free to reach out!

Creative Writing

As a lifelong lover of writing and a student in writing-intensive programs, I am well-versed in different forms of writing, narrative structure, and formatting. I’ve successfully completed College Composition 1 and 2, Short Story Writing, Writing for Film and Television, Research Methods, and Career Literacy courses with a 4.0 average. In both my Composition and Short Story Writing courses, my work was requested for use as an example submission for future students. I have written countless research papers, persuasive essays, short stories, and literary analyses throughout my education and have a special love for narrative structure, poetry, and sensory language. I am also familiar with writing lab reports, speeches, and well-thought-out discussion posts.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I've been lucky enough to have some amazing writing and English professors in my life who have led me to success. As a student involved in writing-heavy courses, I'm no stranger to an essay. I've been writing research papers, persuasive essays, narrative essays, descriptive essays, and more for years! I'm especially proud that some of my essays have been used as examples in future courses. I've completed both College Composition courses, creative writing courses, and essay-heavy core and elective college courses with a 4.0 average. Essay writing can feel intimidating, frustrating, and complicated for many students. I aim to help clear up these frustrations by providing insight into essay structure, outlining, expanding on ideas, planning out papers, transition words, descriptive language, consolidation of ideas, and finding reliable research resources.
Sewing

Sewing

I began my sewing journey in 2015 as a cosplay and theatre enthusiast. Although I am mostly self-instructed, I briefly received training from a skilled local seamstress and family members. Since then, I have won numerous awards for my sewing craftsmanship and have volunteered in the wardrobe department of a local community college, where I was credited as a stitcher for 3-4 productions. I've taught educational sewing panels at local pop culture conventions and am always one to volunteer tips and tricks to friends! I am skilled in fabric choices, interfacings and facings, different types of seams and seam finishes, multiple types of hems, sewing difficult fabrics, sewing with knits, dying fabrics, and reading patterns. I might not be the best fit if you're seeking assistance on tailoring, pattern drafting, and menswear.
