As a current college student pursuing an associate's degree in Marketing, I have completed coursework in communications, and writing, along with math skills to understand trends in data. However, there is a lot of information and topics to learn in College, and having a tutor was always a helpful option to help me understand my classwork. I always appreciated the times my tutors stood to help me understand certain topics I was struggling with and were able to teach me information in a way I could understand clearly. This is what a tutor should be and it is what I wish to be for you, guiding you and teaching you information so you can understand it well and excel in your classes.
In terms of tutoring experience, I have tutored middle school students in math for the past 2 years. I approach tutoring by first assessing the student's understanding of the subject matter and identifying areas of weakness. From there, I create a personalized learning plan that includes targeted practice problems and explanations tailored to the student's learning style.
The students I have tutored in math range from grades 6-8, and I have primarily tutored in a one-on-one setting. My tutoring experience has been through volunteer work with local organizations. Through this experience, I have learned to adapt my teaching approach to different learning styles and personalities, and I have gained a deep appreciation for the power of individualized support in helping students reach their academic goals.
