My name is Gus D. and I have studied the ins and outs of mathematics for the past 7 years. I started at the University of Arizona and completed my undergraduate coursework in May 2017. I tutored during my undergraduate career for topics ranging from Algebra, through vector calculus. I spent most my semesters in high school / middle school classrooms understanding how students who struggle with math think about the concepts and where they might need clarification. I taught Algebra 1 & Geometry at a High School from 2017-2018. During this time, I held private tutoring hours before and after school as well as my own private tutoring on the side. In 2018-2019, I was a staff instructor at Pima Community College for a pre-algebra course. This allowed me to work with adults who have always struggled with mathematics and help them make sense of math and realize their full potential.
I strive to make difficult concepts easy to understand through a clear explanation. I like students to understand why something is the way that it is and why math needs to make sense.
