I believe that students learn best when they are at ease. One of my strengths is connecting with a student or a classroom full of students. My experience in a classroom ranges from 8th grade through college. Also my private tutoring experience spans 4 decades and covers small children through adults returning to school after being in the workforce or raising a family.

I obtained a Michigan Teaching Certificate when I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics education.

For 7 years I owned and operated a large private tutorial service and a KUMON Math and Reading Center in Minneapolis. I, with my staff of 10 part-time tutors, provided tutoring services for up to 120 students per week.

For 10 years I taught College Algebra as well as tutored 20 hours/week in the math lab at AB Technical College in Asheville, North Carolina. The subjects included Prealgebra, Algebra, Statistics, Precalculus and Calculus. Students sought out my assistance in the lab. I related especially well to older students.

I look forward to continuing to help students build skills through patience and loving guidance.
