Hi my name is Phil, I completed a six month full stack coding boot camp through the University of Arizona in 2019, during which, I fell in love with coding and software development. After I finished my boot camp I became a contract Tutor and Teaching Assistant for Trilogy Education (now called 2U), I tutored students of a wide range of ages and technical ability, that were learning web development with a focus on the MERN stack. After tutoring for around six months I got my first offer for a full stack software engineer position. I now have 5 years of experience with 1 year of experience as a lead software engineer. I enjoy helping coworkers and students with problem solving and debugging. In addition to the certificate in web development from the University of Arizona I have some certifications from AWS, MongoDB, Udemy, and Josh Comeau's really cool Joy of React Course. I'm also about 6 months away from completing a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics.
I am a very patient and easy going person. In my free time I occasionally work on software projects of my own for fun. I enjoy playing music, spending time with my family and hiking with my dogs.
