I am transitioning into a second career as a High School teacher. Teaching has always been the passion of my life even while earning a living in the construction industry, I have found myself in informal teaching situations. I value my academic degrees in History, and English Literature, and recognize the mutuality of the two fields. I intend to bring to these subjects the love of a scholar for the individual academic discipline, and emphasize a rigorous hands on approach to teaching the subject.
In addition to my academic degrees I have completed courses in Education at the Secondary level. These courses include, Educational Psychology (approaches and evaluation) Methods of teaching Secondary Social Studies, and Methods of teaching Secondary English composition and literature. I intend to utilize these acquired skills by providing an initial formal assessment and propose a course of study. Progress notes, and evaluations will be provided on an ongoing basis with opportunities for feedback to enhance the learning experience. I intend to be an accountable teacher with result driven outcomes.
I hold a B.A. English Literature from the State University of New York at Buffalo 1996. I hold a B.A. History from the State University of New York at Buffalo 1978.
