I received a 32 and 31 on my ACT math section both times I have taken it (junior and senior year of HS respectively). Since then I have taken many more math classes and have tutored math for an average of 12 hours a week for a year since I've finished high school (as of Dec. 2013).
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I finished Algebra 1 while I was in Middle School and have tutored subjects ranging from algebra to subjects passed calculus. Algebra is difficult for many people because transitioning from arithmetic to algebra means looking at math not just in terms of numbers but in terms of variables. The best way in my opinion to tutor/teach algebra is to give concrete examples and to explain why things work the way they do in algebra. If for example on an exam one forgets an algebraic rule but understands the concepts underlying it, then he or she can possibly re-derive it quickly and still do well on the exam; also it may then be easier for him or her to remember such an equations or rule. I also believe understanding the concepts at a deeper level brings more insight into mathematics and thus more appreciation for math.

I finished Algebra 2 my freshman year of high school with an A grade. I also have lots of algebra experience tutoring Pre-Calculus and Calculus I,II, & III from tutoring through ASU Plus through Honors and AP Physics in high school plus three semesters of Physics at ASU. My algebra tutoring/teaching philosophy is the following: explain the underlying concepts at play in the algebra and explain how to solve all types of problems involving these concepts.

I received a 5 on the AP Calculus BC calculus exam back in High School and got an A in Calculus III my first semester of college at Arizona State University. I have been tutoring Calculus since January 2013 (I also tutored Calculus I while in High School to some fellow classmates). I have also taken many courses that have required using calculus including Math Methods for Physics II which required lots of vector calculus and Physics I,II, & III which applied many of the calculus concepts.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

I have taken ordinary differential equations and Math Methods for Physics II at ASU in AZ. Math Methods for Physics II covered lots of partial differential equations including separation of variables in Cartesian, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates. I have been tutoring Differential equations at ASU for approximately 1 years time as of Dec. 2013. I can do things ranging from separation of variables to Laplace transformations.
Discrete Math

At ASU, I have currently taken Math Structures (intro. to proof writing), Advanced Calculus (Introduction to Mathematical Analysis which is basically beginning proving calculus), Cryptography I (which has lots of number Theory), and introduction to Abstract Algebra as of Dec. 2013. All of these subjects cover more than 4/5th's of discrete mathematics. I have also tutored and have done review sessions(reviewed in front of a class of 30 or so students for their discrete math exam) at ASU for Discrete Mathematics.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

Elementary Math is where I began liking math and playing games that have involved math. I like to help younger ones understand what is numbers are and what the binary operation +, -, *, and /. Then there are some neat tricks one can do with numbers. I am taking a class called Number Theory right now in fact that talks more about the theory of numbers and integers more precisely though I do have a little bit of Math analysis background if I wanted to talk about the real numbers.

I have taken MAT342 (Linear Algebra) my freshmen year of college at Arizona State University with an A in the class and a 100% on the final exam. I watched and took notes on over 90% of the Khan Academy Linear Algebra videos. I have been tutoring Linear Algebra at ASU since May 2013.

I work as an entry level accountant where I use Excel on a regular basis. I use pivot tables and charts and write macros using VBA (I have a lot of background in programming). I've also used Excel for ANOVA and multiple linear regression on my statistics courses at university (I studied Mathematics).

Completed Physics I, II, & III (PHY150,151,252), Mathematical Methods for Physics II (PHY302), General Relativity (PHY523), and Classical & Continuum Mechanics (PHY521) at Arizona State University.

I received a 710 on the SAT math section my junior year of HS. Since then I have taken many more math classes and have tutored math for an average of 12 hours a week for a year since I've finished high school. (Updated Dec. 2013)

At ASU, I have taken IEE380 (Statistics for Engineers) and received an A, as well as STP421 (Probability) and received an A+. Statistics is one of the most frequent classes I tutor due to it being in high demand.

He was very patient, nice, and helpful regarding hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, StatCrunch, Ti-84 statistical tools, and calculating statistical formulas by hand. I was very lucky to find him, and I recommend this tutor to anyone who has issues with statistics.

Great Communication, Noticeable Improvement

Adam has been working with our son to try and help him understand the concepts in his AP Calculus class for a few weeks now. Just this last week, our son earned his highest grade yet this semester on his Calc test. Our son is working hard but we know that Adam's tutoring is certainly helping his efforts. Excellent tutor!

Adam was able to explain calculus in such a way to my struggling daughter that she felt much more confident in taking her exam the next day. He was very good at adjusting his teaching to fit my daughter's understanding, or lack thereof. He could tell when she wasn't really following what he was saying and would switch gears to reach her with a different explanation or method of practice. This ability to know when to adjust a teaching method is truly a gift. He knows his stuff and teaches it well.

Extremely patient, helpful and knowledgeable

Adam was extremely patient, helpful, organized and knowledgeable in AP Calculus. My daughter had not taken Precalculus and was lost the first 2 weeks of class. We asked Adam to tutor her to catch up and prepare for a test. After a few sessions, Adam was able to teach my daughter what she needed to know to stay in the class and even received a good grade on the test. While my daughter really applied herself, if it wasn't for the extra help with Adam tutoring her she would not have done well on the test or be able to stay in the class. We can't thank him enough for his patience and knowledge. If you or your student needs tutoring in Math, I highly recommend Adam.

Adam covered, Calculus BC concepts in general but not limited to Taylor Series, Maclaurin Series, the convergence & divergence of series and integrals, integration by parts, partial fraction decomposition, and other integration techniques.
