Bio

I specialize in college math, physics and physical chemistry courses. Very few tutors are willing to help with these classes. If you need help with Calculus 3, differential equations, linear algebra, Mechanics, E&M, Modern Physics, Physical Chemistry, or Quantum Mechanics, I'm your guy.

My top priority is to give you a conceptual understanding of the material (as opposed to rote memorization). I do this by asking you questions to gauge your understanding. Then I assign tailored problems...

My top priority is to give you a conceptual understanding of the material (as opposed to rote memorization). I do this by asking you questions to gauge your understanding. Then I assign tailored problems (often which I make up on the spot) to address the material you don't understand. I also like to encourage you by pointing out the things you do understand. I am very patient since, unlike most math people, I understand that this stuff isn't obvious just because I know it! I joke around to keep you entertained while still being intellectually demanding.

I have been using differential equations for the last 4 years of my Physics classes, and for 2 years in my research. Differential Equations forms the foundation of Quantum Mechanics, which is my primary area of study.

My specialty in Physics is Quantum Mechanics, which uses linear vector spaces, an advanced concept in Linear Algebra. Not only did I take a class in the basics of Linear Algebra as an undergrad, but I have been using the advanced concepts of linear vector spaces for the last three years in my Quantum Mechanics courses and research.

My approach focuses on understanding the concepts, then learning how to apply the math from there. I have a masters degree in this subject and have been teaching it for over a decade.

Precalculus often has students memorizing and regurgitating concepts they are not really taught to understand. My approach reduces precalculus down to concepts the student already understands from algebra, allowing them to gain a genuine understanding of the ideas. I have been using this method to great effect for many years.
