Photography

I have been a professional photographer and instructor for over twenty five years. A former portrait studio owner in Arizona I have photographed both people and products for clients all over the US. Starting with film I have shoot 35mm, medium format and even 4x5 sheet film. In the late nineties I transition into digital and never looked back. The basic principals of photography still applied but now cameras have a stronger dependents on electronics and computer chips. This requires not just the background in photography but 21 century understanding of computers and digital programs. A patient and creative instructor he has been teaching camera operation and photography techniques in Northern Colorado for the last nine years.

Thorough and Knowledgeable

Helping me to get started with organizing a lifetime of family photos. Photos were scattered amongst Dropbox, Google Photos, iPhotos, Amazon Photos and various hard drives. He’s given me a road path to take on this project.

Bill's billing method

Bill was patient and knowledgeable about PS but he didn't know how to direct me on how to share a screen. The second Tudor I chose did immediately. We also visited in the beginning, him finding out my needs etc., I didn't realize he was including this in his billing time with me. At the end of the session, he mentioned billing me for 1 hour, which was correct with the photoshop learning. Then he also added the initial visit in the beginning to the billing time, which upset me after he mentioned he was going to bill me for 1 hour. I had thought about using him again but he wasn't going to budge, adjusting the bill to an hour. I thought it was unfair. Unfortunately, I will not be using him again.

Tutor responded:

This was two hours with the student and the one hour mentioned was before the lesson. Due to problems with connecting with her computer it took much longer. We ended up doing about 1 1/2 hour lesson and I charged her for 1 hr and 15 mins. I did try to cancel the billing to reduce it but there is not a way to do it after it was submitted.

Nice and efficient

Knew a lot about effects, but in such a short time, I honestly don’t remember most of it. He knows what he’s doing; it just went by so quickly. I know to ask specific questions in the future.

Knoledgeable and Patience

Bill was great at helping me to get stated on the Paint/Drawing "Krita", in one lesson I'm now able to play around with the program having a better idea how to work the tools on Krita.

Patiently made things clear

With more than 425 assorted photos scrambled, Bill was able to show me how to organize them so I could easily find what I needed. He also gave me tips to make the process even easier.
